I first remember meeting Aunt Gloria when she and my Grandmother came to visit us in
Canada. The one thing that I clearly remember is her desire to for us to know the LORD.
Although I was not a regular church goer, it did not change her love towards me. Aunt Gloria
was a servant of the which was evident in all she did.
Although she always respected my privacy, Aunt Gloria felt compelled to confirm that I was
making the correct decisions, especially with it came to relationships.
Book of Ruth
Ruth in Hebrew means “a female friend”; in essence, she was the friend of God…. Truly a great
testimony to the fact that redemption is by the spirit and not by the flesh.
3 v10 – 11
10 And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast showed more
kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men,
whether poor or rich.
11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requires: for all the city of my
people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
And because of your dedication to the LORD…
The LORD is your shepherd,
You shall not want, He maketh you to lie down in green pastures
He restoreth your soul
He maketh you to walk in the path of righteousness for His name sake.
Yeah though you walk through the valley of shadow of death
You shall fear no evil, for Thou art with you,
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort you
Thou preparest a table in the presence of your enemies
Thou anointest your head with oil, your cup runneth over
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life
And you shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever!
Proverbs 31 v30-31
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD she shall be
praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
IN CLOSING
The fruit does not far from the tree and you know them by the fruit they produce. John, you are
the fruit your mother and father produced and you have the same giving and loving soul!
