Judah Tribe

The present fight and cry of the Children of the African diaspora can be heard and felt in the music of Soul-Reggae band, Judah Tribe. The diverse cultural
identities of the group's members allows each to bring his or her own unique story in the fight for Peace, Livity, Equal Rights, & Justice. Led by
singer/songwriters,
Josh David (Q-Tip, Joy Denalane, Rene Neufville, Soul Cycle) and Eric "The General" Toussaint (Junior Reid, Riddim Nation, Ossie
Delimore) the revolutionary sound of Judah Tribe has been heard at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Lincoln
Center singing the world disaster chant "Help Us JAH".

Presently, Judah Tribe is actively performing in venues and festivals along the east coast while promoting their debut album, "Nu Day Dawnin". Other recent
works include collaborations with artists like: Ethiopian-native, Shéba Sahlemariam(Sonic Dynasty), Jamaican Artists, Pashon Minott (Daughter of Sugar
Minott), Alex Marley, Biggz General (Grandson of Bob Marley/Ghetto Youths), Jesse Royal, Dax Lion, and more.

Josh David Barrett
Artist, Josh David Barrett!

From his humble beginnings in New Jersey, to performing with today’s top artists, Joshua David Barrett has
crossed many musical frontiers. Josh David was blessed to grow up in church around many cutting edge musicians,
hailing from the same Union County as the legendary band, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

Before joining The Wailers, his extensive experience as a bassist and producer led him to work and record with
many Jazz, Funk, R&B, and Gospel greats.  After receiving his B.A. in Jazz Performance from William Paterson
University(2004), he went on to record and perform with such artists as: Q-Tip(ATCQ), Common, Quincy Jones,
Mary J. Blige, Rene Neufville(Zhané), Joy Denalane, Smif n Wesson, Silent Knight, Soul Cycle, Soul Understated, Zoe
Maza, Solange Knowles, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, and Kanye West. In recent times, Josh David has worked with top
Bluesman, Tomás Doncker(CEO of True Groove Records), Ethiopian singer Teddy Afro, and Grammy award winning
producer, Commissioner Gordon(Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, Ghetto Youths, White Tiger Society).

The call to Reggae music inspired Josh David to form the band, Judah Tribe in 2004, a collaboration of friends and
fellow musicians with whom they released their debut album, “Nu Day Dawnin” in 2013. Destiny would have it that
Judah Tribe would open for The Wailers in 2012 at New Jersey Preforming Arts Center(Newark, NJ), where he and
distant relatives Aston “Familyman” Barrett, Sr. and Aston Barrett, Jr. would cross paths, leading to his joining the
Wailers officially in 2015. Alongside The Wailers, his energetic performances keep steadfast in giving honor and
praises to the life and legacy of Ethiopian Emperor, and Rastafarian God, Emperor Haile Selassie I, and in the spirit
of Bob Marley who taught us “One Love”.  On August 21st 2020, The Wailers released a new album after 25 years,
produced by Josh David, Aston Barrett(Sr. and Jr.), and legendary Grammy award winning producer, Emilio Estefan
(Sony Latin). With a treasure trove of unreleased music and a love for education, Josh David hopes to inspire the
oncoming generations to live positive and meaningful lives in honor always to our Creator.
